First Submission to a Film Festival
Of course we are not going to tell you which one at this stage but needless to say, the film is at a stage where we are ready to send out for consideration. We're very excited to finally be here. The project was conceived in 2013 by director Ed Scott-Clarke and co-writer Huw Poraj-Wilczynski, following working together on Ed's previous documentary Plastic Shores. Seed funding was originally granted by Barchester Green Investments (now Castlefield Investments), which allowed Huw, Ed, and Ghana DoP Alexis Wilski to head to Accra for preliminary research.
Armed with their test footage from the infamous eWaste scrapyard of Agbogbloshie, they returned. What followed was a period of consolidation and pitching until the next stage of investment came through from financier Lars Wogen and Alliance Trust Investments. This rounded up the funding side of things and allowed shoots in the US, Netherlands, and UK.
Principal photography finished in October last year and we are very happy to be over the biggest post hurdle which is to complete the offline. Come back for further updates!
